Short-Term 2012
Short-term trips are an opportunity to spend focused times with our brothers and sisters from outside of our church community. The goal of these trips is for the gospel to be advanced both here in Houston and around the world. Teams spend time in doing a variety of things including teaching, learning, providing medical care and socializing.

Oaklawn Vacation Bible School – family friendly
Where: East End of Houston (map)
When: July 14-20, 2012
What: Together with Oaklawn Presbyterian Church we will reach out to Houston’s East End through a Vacation Bible School. This will be Christ the King’s second year partnering with Oaklawn to reach out to their neighborhood. We will join with our sister church in leading worship, telling bible stories, playing games, making crafts. This is a great opportunities for families with children or students to serve together. We will be joined on this trip by our partner church, Iglesia Cristian del Sur, from Monterrey, Mexico.

Experience required: Experience serving in CTK’s children or student ministry.

Family Trip - Belize
Where: Corozal Town, Belize (map)
When: July 28 – August 4, 2012
What: Join us for a family mission trip as we join with the Presbyterian Church of Belize in a week long Vacation Bible School. Parents, students and children will be able to serve together. Activities will include arts, crafts, games, sports, and teaching Bible stories. In addition to the VBS there will be opportunities for parents to lead several small group bible studies with local families. The trip will be building on the relationships the Student Ministry has built over the last several years.

Experience required: This is a great first mission trip. A brief family application will be required.

Living Water Trip
Where: Honduras
When: October 13-20, 2012
What: We'll join with Living Water in Honduras helping to drill a water-well. The week is spent on a combination of drilling a well, teaching hygiene to children, and sharing the gospel through activities and crafts. Team sizes average between 8-12 individuals.

Experience required: This is a great first mission trip and no prior drilling experience is required. A brief application is required.

Medical Trip – Southeast Asia
Where: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Bangladesh
When: November 2012, specific dates coming soon
What: We’ll be returning to Southeast Asia to serve with our sister churches in Malaysia and Bangladesh. A team from the U.S. and Malaysia will travel to Bangladesh for a weeklong medical clinic. The clinic will take place in a rural setting with the support of the local church. We are seeking several medical professionals and others who are interested in providing logistical support.
Experience required: Prior mission trip experience to the developing world and the completion of an application process is required.
Cost: $1500 + airfare
