Chris Schwartz - Church Planting Intern
Oaklawn Presbyterian  | Houston's East End

Chris Schwartz joined the staff of our sister church, Oaklawn Presbyterian, during the summer of 2011 as an Assistant Pastor and Church Planting Intern. Chris provides leadership in worship, youth ministry, teaching, and pastoral care. He also helps to guide interaction with partner churches.  Over the next three years Chris' efforts at Oaklawn are focused on preparation for a church plant.   Chris' desire is to see many new gospel-centered churches planted among Hispanics in Houston.

Chris is a native Houstonian and graduate of the University of Houston—Downtown campus. He and Kiki have been married since 2005. In July of 2009, the Lord blessed them with Caleb who was born while Chris was attending Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, MO. A die-hard Astros fan, Chris is extremely excited to return to Houston where he can watch a proper team. Other than baseball and motorcycles, Chris’ passion is to see Christ proclaimed in Houston and from there through the whole of Texas and the world.

Kiki was born in Slidell, LA but spent most of her years growing up in Northern Virginia. Her family moved to Houston in 2000 because of her father’s job with Exxon Mobil, and they have nestled themselves nicely having become naturalized Texans. She is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University majoring in special education. Other than her adorable son, Kiki’s passion is serving with Chris in churches and, in particular, ministering to young women.

Caleb was born July 5, 2009 and immediately his grandparents were in love. He is super excited to live near his grandparents and be reared as a Texan.
