For more than 10 years, we have gathered as a church family in temporary facilities.  In those facilities, God has blessed the vision of Christ the King beyond anything we could have anticipated.  Now imagine what he might do when we have a place we can call home!  Having our own church facility will enable us most responsibly to execute the vision the Lord has entrusted to us.  It will significantly enhance every area of ministry and provide us with a physicial and visible platform from which to lift high the cross of Christ and powerfully extend his reign in Houston and beyond!

The Site

The congregation voted overwhelmingly to purchase a tract of land as the future home of Christ the King Presbyterian Church.  The 7.6-acre tract of undeveloped land is located on Silber Road immediately north of I-10 and just west of Loop 610 (see map).

Facility Update

The Building Committee is pleased to announce the selection of Tellepsen Builders to construct the facility for Christ the King. Tellepsen brings almost 100 years of building experience to the project and has a dedicated church building division within their organization.

The Committee will begin meeting with Tellepsen's team this week as our architects, Hnedak Bobo Group, transitions from the Schematic Design phase into the Design Development stage. Please pray for our team as the Lord continues to build his church, and we will update you on our progress and timeline as it emerges.

The session has appointed a Building Committee to work on the project.  The committee members are Holly Batchelder, Paul Brow, Roger Cooner, John Durie, Bob Hansen, Clay Holland, and Ellen Schuster.  This committee will oversee the development of the design beyond the schematic phase, into construction documents, and ultimately, the final completion.  The committee will help ensure a timely and budget conscious completion of the building.

Christ the King has contracted the services of David Light of Lux Corp to be our owner’s representative for the remainder of the project.  David’s role will be to manage the building project and keep all the vendors on task and on budget.

If you have any questions, please contact Clay Holland at the church office.

Capital Stewardship Campaign. We have completed our first church-wide capital stewardship campaign to raise the capital resources necessary to pay for the new church facility. We exceeded our goal of raising $12 million.  We praise God for his overwhelming faithfulness and our congregation's extraordinary outpouring of generosity!
