What should I expect?

If you are planning your first visit to Christ the King, you may want to arrive about 10 minutes before the service time so that you can get oriented. Our greeters at the front door and at our Welcome Center will be happy to assist you and escort you where you need to go.

As you pass through the main corridor, you will find coffee and refreshments in the Great Hall to your left and the entrance to our Sanctuary on your right. Ushers will greet you at the Sanctuary doors and help you find seats, if needed.

What is the service like?

Our worship services typically last about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Our liturgy is very interactive and you will be asked to follow along in our printed Order of Worship (which you can view each week here). Our service is a lively blend of traditional hymns and contemporary arrangements. There are times to stand and sing, times kneel and pray, and an invitation to join in communion every week.

What do I do during Communion?

Communion is an opportunity for all of us to seek the Lord. It is an occasion for baptized Christians to be strengthened by our Savior. All who trust alone in Christ as Savior and Lord are welcome to come forward. If you are not a Christian, please consider spending this time in prayer using the prayers printed in the Order of Worship.

Ushers will guide each row to stand and come forward. Children who have not received their first communion should come forward with their hands folded and the wine server will pray for them. During Communion we serve wine and bread. Grape juice and gluten free bread are available upon request.

What do I wear?

You will find a wide variety of dress on Sunday mornings – from jeans and t-shirts to suits and dresses.

Where do I take my children?

If you have children, you may bring them with you into the worship service or you can check them into their classrooms. There is a check-in area immediately to your left as you enter the building. First time guests will be asked to fill out security information and receive pick-up tags for their children. You may provide cell phone numbers so that we can text you if you are needed during the morning.

  • Childcare is available during the 9:00 and 10:30 am services for children ages infant through 1 year.
  • Sunday School classes for children ages 2 years old through seniors in high school are available during the 9:00 am service.
  • Children’s Worship is offered in Wee Worship for 3 and 4 year olds and in Kingdom Kids for Kindergarten through 2nd grade during the 10:30 am service. Kindergarteners through second grade will attend the first part of the worship service with their families.  They will be dismissed to Kingdom Kids during the passing of the Peace.
