Summer at Christ the King

We are planning a Spectacular Summer and we want everyone to join us!

Wow Wednesdays
June 13– August 8 (not July 4), 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Register for our themed events for children and parents held most Wednesdays throughout the summer. Two-year-olds through fifth graders will rotate through stations that enhance the day’s theme, including crafts, snacks, activities and story time. Childcare for infants and one year-olds is available. Moms will attend events with children, but don’t worry about trying to be with all your children at the same time! Caregivers will help fill in the gaps to care for the children during the activities.

All Wow Wednesday events are at capacity. Please email Patti Cunningham to be placed ona wait list.

June 13: Wow! Water - Join us outside on inflatables and other fun water play activities. Dress to get wet!

June 20: Kids on a Mission - Join us as we serve three of Christ the King’s mission partners. Preschool children will fill bags with rice and beans for our mission partner, East Spring Branch Food Pantry. Kindergarteners, first and second graders will assemble food bags for our mission partner, Blessings in a Backpack. Older children will fill hygiene bags for our mission partner, Star of Hope.

June 27: Happy birthday, America! - We will spend the morning celebrating our nation’s birthday. What better way to celebrate than to play sports? JC Sports will join us again for a morning of sports activities.

July 11: Ranch Hand Roundup - We’re calling all ranch hands to help us prepare and decorate for our upcoming Vacation Bible School, King’s Ranch. We will also have a training meeting for our wonderful Vacation Bible School volunteers from 11 am to noon.

July 25:  Movies and Munchies - Moms and kids, join us to watch a movie (titles will be announced later). Children will make a movie snack before the movie and enjoy the playground after the movie. Childcare will be available for infants and toddlers not watching a movie.

August 1:  All About Animals - The Houston Zoo will visit and talk to the children about animal adaptations. We will also make animal-related crafts and enjoy animal activities.

August 8: Out of this World! - Children will hear about space from Christ the King member Kevin Wells who works for NASA. Children will also enjoy making space-related crafts.

Yee haw!  Grab ‘yer boots and your hat and join us this summer as we head out on the open range on King’s Ranch. Trail hands will learn about Jesus our Savior and Lord as we get a look-see at five of Jesus’ “I Am” statements. Children will participate in a fast-paced program and move through stations throughout the morning.

Who can attend?

  • Our program has been created for children who are entering Kindergarten through 5th grade for the 2018-19 school year.
  • Our four-year-old preschool program is available for children who are or will be four-years-old by 9/1/18 and is limited to 40 children, so make tracks to grab a spot now!
  • If your child is younger than the 4-year-old requirement, your child may still attend the program if a parent volunteers in the program. Preschool children are allowed to attend on the days a parent volunteers. Volunteers who do not attend our church must register by June 1.

Registration begins on April 2 for Christ the King families.  Please register early!  Registration will open to the public on April 16.  Registration will close on July 6, or when we reach maximum capacity.
