Worship and music are not synonymous; music is a part of worship. The primary role of music in our worship services is to support congregational singing. The congregation is the primary musical ensemble, gathered to praise our Lord. Our musicians play to glorify God and serve the congregation.

We sing music from ancient hymns to psalm settings, classic hymns of the Reformation to new music. We wish to avoid the mistake of romanticizing any point of musical history, be it the past or the present. Using a variety of songs to praise the Lord helps us to both honor the past and embrace the time in which we live.

Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him! All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before him! Let the amen sound from his people again; Gladly fore’er we adore him.

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, Joachim Neander (based on Psalm 103)
