Christ the King Counseling Center

The Christ the King Counseling Center exists to help people find healing, meaning, and hope for their lives and relationships through the power of the Gospel in counseling, groups, training, and events.

Going through a disaster is traumatic, and we have all experienced some level of anguish since Hurricane Harvey made landfall. How do we make sense of the trauma we have personally experienced? How do we talk to others and respond to their losses in the wake of this tragedy?

Women are invited to join us this Thursday, September 7, from 7:00 to 9:00PM at the home of Becca Schwinger as we learn and discuss together. Leslie Peacock, counselor at Christ the King, will teach on the subject of understanding and engaging trauma followed by discussion and prayer. Come as you are and feel free to invite friends or neighbors who need a word of encouragement! RSVP here.

The counselors at Christ the King Counseling Center would like to offer your children the opportunity to process and share their experiences in a safe and trusted environment. We want to come alongside your family as you move forward and heal by giving your children dedicated time to reflect and understand their recent experiences. The diaconate has donated funds to cover the cost for 1-2 sessions per child. If you think your child (ages 5 to 17) would benefit from this brief, focused counseling, please contact Christ the King Counseling Center at 713-400-6715 or counseling@christtheking.com.

Our Story

Christ the King Counseling Center began as a dream of the leadership of Christ the King Presbyterian Church to create a counseling ministry that would provide expert professional care and discipleship resources to Christ the King members and the Houston community.

Our Approach

Christ the King Counseling Center strives to apply a biblical perspective to the challenges of life. Our philosophy is holistic, and our goal in counseling is to establish a context of growth by guiding individuals and families toward emotional and spiritual wholeness. We are professional counselors, adhering to the highest ethical standards of our State, but are also committed to walking with you in your unique process. We count it one of our greatest privileges to enter into the complexity and wonder of God’s story being written in your life.

Training and Equipping

Christ the King Counseling Center offers regular conferences, training workshops, and classes to equip individuals, couples, and families in counseling-related subjects such as marriage enrichment, parenting, and relationships. We also offer support and skills groups addressing issues such as identity, anxiety, depression, and addiction. Stay tuned for more information about upcoming opportunities.

“…what is man that you are mindful of him,

the son of man that you care for him?

You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings

and crowned him with glory and honor.”
