Christ the King Counseling Center

The Christ the King Counseling Center exists to help people find healing, meaning, and hope for their lives and relationships through the power of the Gospel in counseling, groups, training, and events.

Counseling Opportunities

Wednesdays, January 16 - March 6, 11:30am - 1:00pm, Christ the King

During this 8-week counseling group, members will be invited to rest and reflect. We will make space to take stock of our lives and consider how we can grow in the ability to steward the things that God has entrusted to us in a way that leads to thriving and peace. A goal of this group will be to connect with ourselves, with God, and with others in an atmosphere of safety and support. It is this connection that can fuel a change of mindset that can enable a change in actions and choices.

This group will use material from Cloud and Townsend’s classic book, Boundaries, and allow participants to grow in areas such as:

  • Being responsible “to others” versus “for others”
  • Finding and using our voice
  • Coping with the anxiety that can accompany limit setting
  • Making sense of a world that often discourages boundaries
  • Aligning our priorities with God’s priorities and loving as He loves.

Boundary issues impact our family, our friends, our spouse, our children, and our work, so applications to these various realms will be considered. This new year, resolve to give yourself the gift of God’s wisdom around love and limits. The cost for the group is $200, which includes 8 counseling sessions. If you have any questions or you would like to reserve your place in the group, email Katie Ashby.

Relate Strong - Couples

Sundays, January 13 - February 24 (not meeting 2/3), 5:30pm - 7:00pm, Christ the King

Are you interested in enriching your marriage by deepening your understanding of your spouse and yourself? Caroline McKee (M.A.B.C., L.P.C.-I) will lead couples through a 6-week seminar exploring how Gospel truth can transform painful relationship cycles couples find themselves in as well as enhance problem solving and communication skills.

This group will allow you and your spouse to:

  • Explore how past relationships affect your marriage.
  • Identify and acknowledge your individual response to pain and conflict.
  • Apply Gospel truth in the midst of that pain so you can live peacefully with each other.
  • Learn a four-step process to utilize in the midst of conflict and practice them in a safe environment.

The cost is $250 per couple. For more information or to reserve your spot in the group, email Caroline McKee.
